Includiverse at Imagination Unleashed

The Art Challenges the Technology

The driving force for the team at Includiverse is to break down barriers to accessing big screen entertainment. To bring that shared experience to the most disadvantaged people in society, and to take steps towards a world where accessibility is built in, not built on. Therefore bringing our Smart Glasses solution to the general public has been a core part of our journey: not only in imperative user testing sessions, but also to events for the fellow technology enthusiast to which we are invited. Just like Imagination Unleashed at the Hall for Cornwall!

A full on day with lots to take in, the Includiverse team were delighted to see such a large reception and the enthusiasm with which our Smart Glasses were received. From parents who didn’t want their children to argue about whether or not to use subtitles, to students with neurodiversity, to people using hearing aids there was a use for Smart Glasses everywhere - one participant even commented that it gave her goosebumps!

The Technology Inspires the Art

It was not just Includiverse that were on show at Imagination Unleashed - the 2025 edition featured sixteen exhibits, two hands-on workshops and two on-stage talks. One of which was given by actor Sam Crane along with a screening of his film, Grand Theft Hamlet. Shakespeare and Grand Theft Auto is not something that the average person would put together, but it just goes to show how some imagination, innovation and a little push from technology can create even the wildest of products - like a production of Hamlet inside a notoriously violent video game. A production of Hamlet on stage is a treat to watch but has been done countless times before - the medium of a video game is what makes this production stand-out and has earned Crane and his team eight awards since its release, including the Jury Award for Documentary Feature at South by South West 2024.

You inspire us

Going to industry events like Imagination Unleashed and seeing the effect not only our product but those of other creatives have on the average person and the potential for enhancing their every day life is a hugely rewarding part of the task. To see our Smart Glasses spark conversation amongst the public and some even sharing their own experiences around accessibility is invaluable to us. We created this product for those who face barriers - there would be no us without you!

Thank you to Imagination Unleashed and Screen Cornwall for having us and a big well done to everyone involved in making the day such a great success. Everything crossed we’ll see you again next year!
